Mike graduated from Sheridan College for a Bachelor of Applied Health Sciences in Athletic Therapy with a background in Fitness and Health Promotion. Mike has experience in both a clinical and sport setting around the GTA for the past 4 years, as well as providing custom knee braces to patients with osteoarthritis (OA) and/or knee instability etc. Mike specializes in manual therapy with a combination of active based programs to get individuals back to the things they love to do, ranging from walking to high performance in sport. Mike also has great experience with surgical based patients, following doctors protocols to get the patient back to their capabilities. He is very passionate about his work and believes patient education is very important while staying active. His therapy interest started after playing over 20 years in hockey with a combination of snowboarding during the winter.
Megan graduated in 2002 from Acadia University with a degree in Kinesiology, and then graduated in 2005 with a degree in Exercise and Sports Science, Athletic Therapy, from the University of Manitoba. She certified as an Athletic Therapist in 2005 and is a member of the OATA and CATA and the College of Kinesiology of Ontario as a Registered Kinesiologist. Megan has taken courses in soft tissue release, and Fit Fore Golf level 1&2. She is also a certified custom knee brace technician and has extensive knowledge in the selection and fitting of a variety of braces. In her spare time, Megan competes in synchronised skating, and enjoys spending time with her husband and son. Megan is also fluent in ASL.
Lorraine is a graduate from the Canadian College of Massage and Hydrotherapy in 2003 and has been a healthcare provider ever since. Being involved with massage therapy for the past 14 years Lorraine is passionate about health and wellbeing. She believes in treating the whole body and the body’s ability to heal itself, and utilizes her expertise to assist in the process. Lorraine specializes in lymphatic drainage, deep tissue, pre and post natal as well as trigger points. She has experience in treating post operative orthopedic patients, post mastectomy patients, sports injuries and those just wanting to relax and de-stress.
Nav has been working as a Physiotherapist since 2002 and is currently registered with the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario and is a member of Canadian Physiotherapy Association. She has a post graduate education in Preventive and Promotive healthcare. Over the years, she has worked in various in-patient and out-patient settings helping with rehabilitation of patients with a variety of Acute and Chronic neurological, cardiovascular and musculo-skeletal conditions. Her specialty lies in rehabilitation
of various orthopedic conditions including post-surgical cases, with a special interest in young athletes and geriatric population. She is an avid promoter of preventive aspect of injury and you will learn about correct ergonomics and techniques of injury prevention as you go through rehab of your condition under her care. She has a patient-centered approach to recovery and believes in empowering her patients with education about their condition and customizing treatment as per their needs and goals to achieve maximum recovery.
Dr. Michelle Grybko graduated from the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College, earning her Doctor of Chiropractic degree. Since she was young girl, she played competitive soccer in the Hamilton and Ancaster areas, which translated into a passion for the human body. This curiosity led her to attend Brock University, where she graduated with an Honours Bachelor of Kinesiology degree. Dr. Michelle has experienced first-hand how an injury can impact the body’s ability to function, but also how chiropractic can be an effective tool in healing and recovery. Dr. Michelle provides patient-centred care through diversified chiropractic technique. This involves manual therapies, including spinal and extremity manipulation, manual release therapy, and rehabilitation. Dr. Michelle has experience working with a variety of conditions, including coccydynia, which is also known as tailbone pain. With every patient, Dr. Michelle’s goal is to reduce pain, improve function and provide education about maintaining an optimal quality of life.
Megan joined DSD in January 2019. With over 15 years in customer service and management focused roles, Megan is excited to jump into something new here at Absolute Physiotherapy. Originally hailing from Halifax NS, Megan is ready to continue learning new and different things in her new role as Administrator.
